A FULL CIRCLE MOMENT IN LIFE
When Alisa Vukasinovich saw her first musical in 1985, little did she know how much the arts would become part of her life, or how much Muse Machine would affect her. That musical was West Side Story, presented by Muse Machine.
That was not only Alisa’s first musical but also Muse Machine’s – the organization was founded a few years earlier in 1982.
Over the past few weeks, Alisa has helped her children prepare for the 2011 summer concert in addition to volunteering year round. Alisa says, “Muse has become a huge part of our lives. This is a full circle moment in life.”
Muse Machine, Alisa says, has helped her four children, Malik, 14; Malin, 10; Nicoli, 6; and Anika, 5, become more confident and independent. While performing in the Muse Machine’s musical Into the Woods this past January, Alisa says her two middle sons, Malin and Nicoli, “grew up while on stage. They were interacting with the other kids, they knew what they were doing, and they were being creative.” Her other two children, Malik and Anika, soon followed suit, and the four Vukasinovich kids lit up the Victoria Theatre stage with the nearly 200 other performers during the 2011 summer concert, Tonight – Songs from West Side Story and More.
