New Parent Info

When your child participates in the Muse Machine musical, there are a few things we ask the parents to do to make this enormous project possible!

Add Muse To Your Phone

Often, when Muse reaches out with updates, it will be done via an automated system that calls you with a recorded message. These are brief and include important info like schedule changes. Please add “Muse Machine” to your phone with this phone number: 937-222-6873 (so that you don’t mistake the call for a salesperson or political call).

Backstage Page

You’ll find all info for participants at musemachine.com/backstage (which we call “the backstage page”).

Family Info Form

Must be completed by the parents of all participating students. This provides emergency medical info, accurate contact info and more to the creative team. Please complete ASAP if you have not already.

Costumes

The many costumes for our show are the work of parent volunteers. Many parents find this a convenient option while they wait for their kids during selected rehearsals. We need parents who are able to:
• Organize
• Shop/collect costumes (from Goodwill or community theaters)
• Sew (both basic skills and more advanced)
• Craft

Meals

Meals will be provided for students during the long tech weekend rehearsals and during the two-show Saturday. After-rehearsal snacks are also provided during tech week and performances and refreshments are provided for the Winter Party & Dance (more on that event below). There’s a lot of kids to feed and we need every parent to contribute in the way that is convenient for them. During food collection times, you can just pull up to the curb and volunteers will collect donations from your car!  You’ll find what foods are needed as well as when to volunteer in the link:

Beverages

Along with meals, beverages will be provided for your kids. You’ll see two dates in the rehearsal schedule for beverage drop-offs. Please bring a case or two of water, sports drink or soda to Muse on those mornings and volunteers will collect the beverages from your car! Saturday, November 9 at 9:30am and Sunday, December 15 at noon.

Security Parents

These are volunteers who are present at the door of the Muse building when kids exit at the end of evening rehearsals. They don’t have security guard duties — they’re simply an adult presence as the kids leave and head to their cars. We ask all families to claim a spot or two, which can align with when your own kids have rehearsal.

Ticket Presale for Families

In short, this is an opportunity to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the public. This will happen at 9:30am on Saturday, November 9 at the Muse space. There are discounts available to families only at this event and better seats are available. The linked page is rather lengthy, but we strongly recommend you read all of it so that you can have the best experience possible!
